Pam Abrams is a writer and editor with a special interest in kids and food. She is the senior vice president of Downtown Bookworks, a book packaging company in New York City. She received her B.A. from the State University of New York, Purchase College, and began her editorial career as an associate editor at Harper’s magazine. She later worked as executive editor of Parents magazine, editor-in-chief of Child magazine, and vice president and editorial director of eToys.com. Most recently, she was vice president and editor-in-chief of Scholastic’s Parent & Child magazine.  Her articles have appeared in Parents, Scholastic’s Parent & Child, and O magazines, as well as the Chicago Tribune. She is the author of the children’s book Now I Eat My ABC’s. Abrams is a member of the American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME) and is on the Board of Directors of Consumers Union. She has appeared on many national and local radio and television programs.
An avid cook and self-described “gadget junkie,” Pam has been cooking with her two children since they were in highchairs. She recently began encouraging other kids to engage their curiosity and interest in food and gadgets through teaching cooking classes at home in Brooklyn, New York.
