Dr. Robert Sears is the second son of Martha Sears, R.N., and William Sears, M.D. He earned his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine and finished his pediatric internship and residency at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Dr. Bob is the father of three young boys, which has increased his interest in the “parenting” side of pediatrics, with a specific focus on child behavior and parenting for first-time fathers. He has written for Contemporary Pediatrics and Newsweek Japan. His television appearances include Dr. Phil, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and CNN’s House Call with Dr. Sanjay Gupta, where he offered advice to first-time fathers. He is a regular guest on the PBS child-health program A Place of Our Own, and is a frequent speaker at La Leche League conferences.
