Dr. William Sears

Dr. William Sears, or “Dr. Bill,” is the father of eight and the author of more than thirty childcare books. He received his pediatric training in Boston at Harvard Medical School’s Children’s Hospital and in Toronto at The Hospital for Sick Children. At the latter, the world’s largest children’s hospital, he served as associate ward chief of the newborn nursery and associate professor of pediatrics. A fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Royal College of Pediatricians, he is presently an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California, Irvine, School of Medicine. Dr. Sears is a medical and parenting consultant for Parenting and Baby Talk. He is also the Parenting.com pediatrician.
Dr. Sears and his wife, Martha Sears, R.N., have authored numerous volumes on baby and childcare and have written many articles for parenting magazines. They have appeared on more than 100 television shows, including 20/20, Good Morning America, Oprah, Today, and Dateline.
The couple resides in California, where Dr. Sears has a pediatric practice with sons James and Robert. - Titles include:
