Norman Van Aken is Florida’s most celebrated chef. Winner of the James Beard Award for Best Chef in the Southeast and the Robert Mondavi Culinary Award, he toured in 1997 as a Cooking Light 10th Anniversary Enlightened Chef. His restaurant, Norman’s, in Coral Gables, was a James Beard nominee as Best New Restaurant in America, 1995. A featured chef on Discovery’s Great Chefs of the South, he has also appeared on Good Morning America and CBS This Morning. His other cookbooks include The Great Exotic Fruit Book and the James Beard Book Award-winning Norman’s New World Cuisine.
