Jennifer Felicia Abadi travels whenever possible, especially to Israel and its surrounding countries, studying foods, languages, and cultures. Her recipes have appeared in the Daily News and The New York Times Sunday Magazine, and her illustrations in the Passover cookbook Let My People Eat! and Italian Food and Wine Magazine. Abadi hosts monthly food tastings and teaches cooking courses centered around Jewish and other Middle Eastern cuisines. She also assists others in writing and preserving their own family recipes. Pam Abrams is a writer and editor and has worked at several parenting magazines, most recently as vice president and editor-in-chief of Scholastic’s Parent & Child. She recently began teaching cooking classes for kids at her home in Brooklyn, New York.

Karen Adler is a food writer, culinary instructor, and publisher. She is the president and owner of Pig Out Publications, Inc., a specialty barbecue books wholesaler. She has written for numerous publications and has appeared on local and national television and radio. Adler has authored or co-authored more than 14 books with 9 titles specializing in barbecue.She lives in Kansas City, Missouri.

Colman Andrews is the former editor-in-chief of Saveur magazine and an internationally acclaimed food and travel writer. He has received the IACP’s Bert Greene Award for magazine food journalism and the James Beard Foundation’s M.F.K. Fisher Distinguished Writing Award, as well as a place on its “Who’s Who of Food and Beverage in America” list. He lives in New York City and Riverside, Connecticut.

Janet Balaskas organized the first Active Birth Conference in London. A mother of four, she has written many books on pregnancy and childbirth. She runs a childbirth education clinic.

Teresa Barrenechea, a native of Bilbao, the largest city in the Basque Country, is an internationally award-winning cookbook author and was the acclaimed chef and owner of the former Marichu restaurant in New York City. Barrenechea has been lauded by magazines and newspapers across the country, including Food & Wine, Food Arts, and Gourmet, and has also appeared on numerous radio and television shows, including Today.

Marcelle R. Bienvenu is the co-author with Emeril Lagasse of four books and the author of three books.  She writes the weekly “Cooking Creole” column in the New Orleans Times-Picayune and lives in St. Martinville, Louisiana.

Jeff Bradley is the author of five books, has written for numerous newspapers and magazines, and taught writing at Harvard University for eight years. He and his sons, Truman and Walker, live in Boulder, Colorado.

Leading American foraging expert “Wildman” Steve Brill has been guiding foraging tours in and around New York City since 1982. He has appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman and Today, and has been profiled in numerous publications, including The New York Times.

Lora Brody is the author of more than 22 cookbooks. Her recipes have been printed in The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe, and the Chicago Tribune, and Brody has appeared on Good Morning America, Today, and Baking with Julia. She divides her time between homes outside of Boston and in Provincetown, MA, at the tip of Cape Cod.

Jan Ellen Brown, I.B.C.L.C., is a board-certified lactation consultant who, over the past 20 years, has helped countless families meet their breastfeeding goals. A retired La Leche leader and mother of two daughters, she gives frequent lectures on breastfeeding and parenting issues and practices with a pediatric group. She lives and works in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Lori Collins Burgan is a respected social worker and mother of three. She is the president and CEO of LCB Management Consulting, Inc., which specializes in providing management and program-development assistance to nonprofit agencies around the country. Burgan lives outside of Tampa, Florida.

Lauren Chattman, a trained pastry chef, is the best-selling author of several cookbooks. She is also the co-author of Roland Mesnier’s From Basic to Beautiful Cakes and Dessert University, which she wrote with former White House pastry chef Roland Mesnier. Chattman’s recipes have appeared in Bon Appétit, Redbook, Food & Wine, Cook’s Illustrated, and The New York Times, and she has appeared numerous times on QVC. She lives with her family in Sag Harbor, New York.

Andrea Chesman is a freelance writer, regional New England cooking expert, and an authority on healthy vegetarian cuisine. A prolific writer as well as a brilliant cook, she is the author of more than 20 cookbooks and a contributor to several others. She is a contributor to several periodicals including Food & Wine and Fine Cooking, and was a food columnist for Vermont Life magazine for twelve years. She lives in Vermont with her husband and children.

Patty Cogen, M.A., ED.D., is a child and family therapist and child development specialist, as well as the mother of an adopted daughter from China. She has a master’s degree in clinical psychology and a doctorate in education. Cogen is a member of the Child Therapy Association of Seattle and the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, a contributor to Adoptive Families magazine, and the founder or cofounder of several educational organizations and support groups for internationally adopted children and their families in the Seattle area, where she lives.
